Just Natural Organic Care
Don't Use Chemical Products When There Are Proven Natural Treatments!
As you age, your skin develops many problems.
Some of these are cosmetic problems such as skin tags, excess
hair, etc., while some others are diseases such as actinic
keratoses, skin cancer, etc.
Sun damage and the normal aging process of the body, both
combine to produce such skin problems. With aging, your ability
to repair damage also reduces.
That is why medical intervention may be required to set things
right. Lets look at the problems of the aging skin.
Skin care affects both the old and young but when it
comes to maintenance, starting early is key.
When your skin is young, the natural skin care repair mechanisms are at their peak and skin will continuously repair
itself. However, as you grow older these same skin care repair mechanisms function less efficiently and that is when
you begin to see the signs of damage. This damage appears in a variety of forms with the most common signs being
age spots, overall color, wrinkles, pore size changes, and a general rough texture of your skin.
As the damage worsens, the skin begins to look aged, leathery, and have an irregular surface. It is therefore
imperative that you treat your skin as the vital organ it is. Healthy skin maintenance calls for good nutrition and good
skin care products.
Like all our body organs, skin age is programmed by genes. This is called internal aging. Dry skin, age spots, white
hair, hair loss, thin nails and other skin changes occur due to age. Skin also ages due to external factors. Sun is the
main culprit that ages the skin. The other external factors include gravity, smoking, facial expressions, sleeping
position, etc.
Skin Changes With Age
As we age, skin also ages. But skin can age faster than our biological aging because of external factors. That is why
skin aging is said to be both intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic changes are those that appear with natural aging of the
body. Extrinsic changes are those that occur because of external factors such as sun, smoking, gravity, bad skin care
etc. We cannot stop intrinsic aging because that is a natural process in our body, but we can reduce changes due to
extrinsic factors.
Due to sun exposure and aging, skin can lose its ability to produce moisture and natural oils.
This results in dry skin. Though it may look smooth with fine pores and few blackheads or blemishes, it may also have
a tight, leathery appearance.
Dry skin types need a lot of hydrating and moisturising to protect them from damage, so the cleansers, toners and
moisturisers used on dry skin should all be aimed at softening and hydrating. Night creams are also very beneficial for
dry skins as they nourish and repair the skin while the body is resting.
Sensitive skin is often found in fair complexioned people and those who have a tendency to develop allergies.
A sensitive skin needs extra care and should never be exposed to harsh or harmful chemicals.
A gentle skin care regime, utilizing products that calm and sooth the skin are recommended for this type of skin.
Acne is one of the great misfortunes of teenagers. It is a common, chronic skin disorder that is caused by the
inflammation of oil-producing sebaceous glands. Acne usually occurs on the face, neck, back and chest and usually
begins between the ages of ten and thirteen and then continues for five to ten years.
Teenagers, both men and women, obtain acne in equal numbers and there are numerous causes. It is worth noting
that younger males are generally more prone to acute and long-term acne
Normal skin is not too oily or dry and blemishes are uncommon. Normal skin is firm, with a healthy appearance. It is
normally smooth with small pores. Normal skin types can still benefit from a good skin care regime to protect it from
harmful environmental factors and to preserve normal skin function
Oily skin is often shiny and coarse in texture and may have recurring blackheads, enlarged pores, blemishes and acne
problems. It may also have patches of flakiness around the nose where excess oils have dried.
People with oily skin often avoid moisturizers and use alcohol based toners as drying agents, thinking that
moisturizing makes the oiliness worse and a drying toner is needed to control the excessive oil secretion. Nothing
could be further from the truth!
Most oily skins will be stimulated to produce more oil when they are excessively dried out and alcohol based toners
are a no-no!. In addition, use of a moisturiser specially formulated for the oily skin type helps to control the excessive
oil secretion.
