What is in our soap?
Just Natural soaps are cold crafted to retain the natural glycerin which results in a soap that naturally protects and
moisturizes your skin to make bathing a delight. We use the finest natural and organic vegetable oils, butters, botanicals
and essential oils from around the world. All of our soaps are super-fatted with premium vegetable oils or butters. Super-
fatting means that these oils or butters are added near the end of the soap making process. This creates an unusually
moisturizing, high lathering soap which gently cleanses while lubricating your skin with the oils or butters. These
ingredients are rich in antioxidants and vitamin E, allowing your skin to restore itself.
Are all soaps good for my skin?
Not all soaps are created equal. Many “beauty or cleansing bars” cannot legally be called or advertised as soaps because
they are detergents. Many companies that sell soap also market skin moisturizers and lotions. These soaps are too
aggressive which tends to cause dryness and stress to your skin.
Most commercial soap manufacturers chose their raw materials based on cost rather than their ability to cleanse, protect,
or moisturize your skin. These soaps are made from food industry waste, in particular, from low value by-products of the
meat industry, such as lard or tallow. Lard and tallow renderings are obtained after cattle are butchered and the fat waste
is removed, which is then sold to these soap companies.
Check the label of the soap that you use for the list of ingredients. Sodium Tallowate usually is the number one ingredient,
which of course is the processed tallow or fat renderings from the meat packing plant. Not a pleasant thought when taking
a shower or washing your hands.
In addition, commercial soaps are manufactured in large rivers of molten lard with chemicals used to separate and
remove the natural glycerin. The soap is then cooled, crushed and then chemicals for sudsing, sequestering, chelating,
and synthetic lubricants are added before being extruded by high pressure into its final shape.
Is it any wonder why skin care specialists are wary of the commercial soaps available at our local grocery stores?
Many today have taken a stand against these soaps. Whether for psoriasis or persistent rash, skin specialists often
recommend that you stop using your soap and trying a more gentle cleanser.
