Body Skin Routine
Our body and face skin structure is different.
Caring for our body – hands, thighs and body skin – from dry
skin with its fewer oil and additional sweat glands requires good
body skin care protection and safeguarding.

Like our face, our body skins are very often exposed to many
pollutant elements that can cause our skin to become dry and
coarse. Unlike our face, our body skin tends to receive less
attention and concern, as they are less representative compared
to our face.

However, they are as vulnerable as well to the bad effects of dry
skin.

Is important to remember that our complexion can change.  Dry
skin today can change to blemished or sensitive skin.
Skin care products that you may have been using for years like a cosmetic or cream, cannot change to meet the
needs of your skin. As your skin changes you must always change your skin care products to match your needs.

Here are some recommendations to control the dryness below the neck area.
Do not over cleanse or shower in hot water. When your skin is dry, you
need to limit your contact with hot water as it can strip your body of the
essential oils needed.

Avoid using alkaline soaps as it can disrupt your skin’s protective lipids.
Limit the time you spend in the bath or under the shower. If you really
needed a long warm bath, be sure to lather on your moisturizer
immediately after bathing.
If you have  dry skin or  normal skin and believe that using soap can dry
your skin it is important to remember that you are preparing your skin to
receive nutrients from the oils that are in the butters, creams and lotions.

If you have oily skin then soap is more than important, it is essential in your skin care routine.

If you have
sensitive skin  choose a fragrance free soap - Gaiana that will purify and cleanse without irritating
the skin.

If you have body
acne remember that cleanliness is part of the solution, use acne soap  and follow with a
moisturizer or skin treatment. Don't use any skin care products before using a cleanser and toner on your
skin, this can aggravate your skin condition and lose the benefits of your skin treatments.

The use of a natural cleansing soap can make a difference.

Step 2: Exfoliate
If you find body skin is especially dry and flaky, gentle physical
exfoliation can be beneficial. Use a loofah or a mild abrasive cloth to
assist in your exfoliation. There are also exfoliating creams and scrubs
you can find in most skin stores.

Regular exfoliation will improve how your skin looks and feels.

Exfoliating deeply cleanses to remove the dead skin cells that clog your
pores and make your skin look dull.

As a result, dead skin cells are left behind that will make your skin look
lusterless.
Exfoliating can help to reduce flaky dry skin, remove dead skin and clean pores. It increases the blood
circulation in the skin, helps to remove toxins, rids your skin of dry and rough patches.

You should gently exfoliate your body twice a week to keep it balanced.   It enhances the effects of daily
moisturizing by allowing the moisturizer to penetrate the skin more deeply.

Apply an exfoliating scrub or polish using your fingers, make circular motions for about three minutes.

You can apply a skin moisturizer as often as desired
The best time to apply active products is right after you have
bathed.
A moisturizer leaves the skin feeling softer and smoother. It also
helps to relieve dry itchy skin. Take care not to forget about other
areas of your body such as elbows, knees, feet, hands and your
face that may need additional moisture and care.

Is your dry skin itchy and flaky or cracking and peeling? While dry skin
may indicate any of several skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema,
you may simply have skin that is badly in need of hydration.
The epidermis, or outer layer of skin, is easily dehydrated, particularly in cold, windy weather or after
extensive unprotected sun exposure. Flaky, itchy skin, itchy scalp, or scaling can result. Painful
chaffing can appear on the skin.
Moisturizers are not created equal. Each has a purpose in your skin care routine.

  • Butters are used for intense moisturizing, are best for dry skin, mature skin, or dry weather
    conditions.

  • Creams are lighter than butters and provide good hydration and moisture to skin.

  • Lotions generally are very light to deliver moisture and nutrients as needed.

  • Oils designed for specific areas of concern that need intense protection and nutrients.

  • Anti-Aging specifically formulated with ingredients rich in anti-oxidants that aid in restoring lost the
    skins' properties.

  • Acne treatments created with moisturizers enriched with anti-bacterial ingredients that neutralize
    acne and help prevent break-outs.

  • If you have dry skin  you can use a body butter, body cream, or a nutritive oil, depending on your
    skins' necessities.

  • If you have normal skin   you are able to use body butter,  body cream, nutritive oil or body lotion,
your moisturizing needs may change depending on the weather or changing skin conditions.

  • If you have oily skin you are probably thinking you don't need body moisturizers. This is a mistake,
your skin needs some moisture and putting the right kind of moisture into the skin protects it from
becoming oily. You can use a body lotion, a body cream or a body oil.

  • If you have sensitive skin you should look for products that are free of fragrances and dyes, as they
    can cause skin irritation.

  • If you have acne or blemished skin you can chose from our products in acne treatments.
Apply body moisturizer as desired.  Gently massage the moisturizer into your body's' skin with smooth
upward strokes. For extra-dry areas, use a little additional moisturizer.

Before sleep, be sure to apply a layer of anti dry skin cream or lotion. This can be helpful as you rest
through the night for the cream to work on your skin.

Titanium dioxide is also inorganic so it keeps the skin from gathering moisture that could feed bacteria
and cause or worsen acne. This is great news for acne sufferers looking for an effective makeup and

Your skin type could affect your chances of developing skin conditions and usually people with either
fair skin, red and blond hair, or people with green or blue eyes, are more at risk.

Keep some sunscreen products on hand. Apply generously to body areas like your hands and neck.
These are the areas frequently exposed to the sun and needs more care and protection than the rest
of your body.
A moisturizer with sunblock is a smart choice.
Sunlight damages your skin, even if you have dark skin or a dark tan.
